Orientation for the 17 new men who entered TC’s doors was a safe and fruitful success thanks to the doubled efforts of the orientation seminarian team and faculty and staff who coordinated a seamless and educative welcome week of socially distanced tours, protocol introductions, formation overview, and prayer and reflection. This support expanded when the entire returning community gathered on Friday for an outdoor meet and greet barbeque and joyful reunion after the challenges of the previous semester.
For the 2020-21 formation year, the TC community consists of 11 men on pastoral year and 60 men in house, representing a total of 22 diverse dioceses across the nation. As orientation week drew to a close, Archbishop Wilton Gregory joined faculty and seminarians for Evening Prayer and warm assurances of his accompaniment as diocesan ordinary. The week ended with Mass celebrated by our new rector, Rev. Dominic Ciriaco, P.S.S., who, alongside Student Government Association President, Deacon Jason Allan (Ft. Worth), greeted the men officially after they inscribed their names in the Book of Welcome. Adjusting to new protocol, the elbow tap replaced the traditional handshake!
Please join us in praying for the journey of each seminarian’s “yes” to the call of Christ at Theological College!
