This year’s joyful alumni celebration was marked by the gathering of members of the 50th reunion class, among many others wishing to reconnect and visit their former home. Attendees at the Tuesday morning symposium, “The Synod on the Family: Christian Families and Contemporary Culture,” including CUA President John Garvey, were helped to examine the challenges of this issue by presenters Father John Beal, J.C.D., from the CUA School of Canon Law, and Dr. Nicholas Healey, D.Phil., of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family (to view the video of this symposium, click here). Following this, the rector hosted a seminary update luncheon, during which he shared the positive outlook of today’s Theological College. The Reunion Mass that afternoon, with celebrant Bishop Joseph Tyson of Yakima, Washington (Class of 1989), was graced by the concelebraton of 34 alumni priests and two additional alumni bishops. The festivities continued back at TC with the traditional beef tenderloin dinner and the Award Recognition Ceremony, with this year’s recipient Father Kenneth Haydock (Class of 1981) witnessing to 35 fruitful years of priestly ministry. Please join us in congratulating Fr. Ken, and all alumni celebrating milestone anniversaries!
