On May 18, 2019, 13 TC deacon scholars graduated, receiving varying and sometimes multiple degrees between them, depending on their individual academic tracks: Bachelor of Sacred Theology, Master of Divinity, and Master of Arts. These deacons, some of whom have already since been ordained, were Brendan Dawson, Timothy Deely, David (D.J.) Egan Jr., Anthony Federico III, Raymond Kalema, Mingwei Li, Christopher Masla, Stefan Megyery, Patrick Mullan, Ramiro (R.J.) Regalado Jr., David Roman, Cassidy Stinson, and Nye (Joseph) Willey III. Three additional distinguished scholars from the Class of 2019, Deacons Matthew Browne, Walter Genito, and Michael Russo, will return to TC and Catholic University for one more year, 2019-20, to complete their S.T.L. degrees. These graduates represent 11 dioceses across America.
In addition, the Basselin Scholar Class of 2019, Reed Bellingham, Jacob (Daniel) Sessions, and Michael Vidrine, representing two more dioceses, earned their Ph.L. degrees on May 18 and will be moving on to theologate studies in the Diocese of Lafayette and in Rome in the upcoming academic year. These graduates received their degrees in TC’s Mary Seat of Wisdom Chapel, with all others being conferred, as has been the annual arrangement with Catholic University’s School of Philosophy.
