Theological College hosted an art opening in the second week of January showcasing the paintings, sketches, photography, and carving of over a dozen artists from TC and two local houses of formation — the Carmelites and St. Josephat. Seminarians and faculty entertained 50-60 people from the TC and Catholic University community from 2 pm to 5 pm, with a light reception made possible by the Father Melvin Blanchette Fund for the Arts. Seminarians hope to make this an annual tradition, inspired by the Catechism of the Catholic Church (2501): “Created ‘in the image of God,’ man also expresses the truth of his relationship with God the Creator by the the beauty of his artistic works.” The exhibit will extend through February 12th, open to the public and free of charge.
