During the period of transition between Pope Benedict’s abdication and the election of Pope Francis, the Rector and seminarians of Theological College were interviewed by various news agencies.

Supervisors’ Appreciation Dinner
The seminarians of Theological College participate in apostolate in numerous pastoral settings (religious education programs, parishes, hospitals, and other outreaches) within the city as well as the larger Washington DC area. The success of this program rest with those individuals who agree to mentor the seminarian in their outreach. Each year, Theological College hosts those who so generously assist our seminarians in their pastoral placement ministries.

Installation of Ministries
Throughout the seminarians’ journey in formation, they advance to different levels within ministry, the culmination of which is the ordination to the priesthood. Each spring, seminarians are installed in the ministries of reader and acolyte. This year, Theological College was blessed with the presence of Bishop Michael Bransfield of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston who conferred these ministries for our community.

March for Life 2013
This year marked the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision and was especially significant for all those who participated in the March for Life. Marching to the Supreme Court, the seminarians, formation faculty, and staff of Theological College braved the cold and gave a voice to the unborn and all those affected by abortion. United in their respect for life, hundreds of thousands of people marched through the streets of Washington, D.C. to stand up for the right to life. TC also hosted over 100 seminarians who traveled to D.C. for the March.

Early Music Concert
Soprano Nola Richardson and lutenist John Armato presented an afternoon concert featuring music from the Baroque and Renaissance periods in TC’s main chapel. After the concert, a small reception allowed all the guests to visit with the two talented musicians. A friend of Theological College, Ms. Richardson also performed at Father Phillip Brown’s installation as Rector of Theological College in the Fall of 2011.

Alumni Days 2012
Alumni Days was a great success! More than 50 alumni from around the country returned to meet with classmates and friends from TC during the two-day event. A highlight of the celebration this year was the reunion lecture held on Wednesday, October 3 and presented by Father Robert Barron (B’82), the new rector of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, IL.
